Terms of Use, key points
  • CASHBOX is a marketplace and escrow holder. The work contract is between the Client and the Operator, not with CASHBOX.
  • Clients fund the full job amount into escrow up front by a bank-to-bank transfer that goes straight into CASHBOX's client trust account; funds are released to the Operator as milestones are approved.
  • Your money is held on trust in a dedicated Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) client trust account, separate from CASHBOX's own operating funds, and is reconciled regularly.
  • Trust funds may earn interest. CASHBOX retains that interest as a disclosed fee (its margin) and, by funding, you direct us to keep it — but your full principal is never reduced.
  • CASHBOX is a registered financial service provider and a member of an approved dispute resolution scheme you can escalate to for free.
  • We may verify your identity and meet anti-money-laundering obligations (supervised by the Department of Internal Affairs) before you transact.
  • Operators are independent contractors and must hold the licences, insurance and skills their work requires.
  • Your Consumer Guarantees Act, Fair Trading Act and Privacy Act rights are not taken away by these Terms.
  • Disputes pause the affected escrow funds until they are resolved.
